I just recently picked up Alexander, and made him my only melee/martial arts dude - there's some cool new stuff for melee/unarmed people out there to craft as well, though not sure yet how it compares to Lenin's Wrath.Strength = 6. Actually the only ammo I've needed to craft so far is shotgun ammo - most other types I find more than I actually use. Not that I need it since I have the Vintorez (which I missed out on the first time through since I stupidly let that guy go) - the only problem with that one is that it takes the "silenced" 9mm ammo, which the ammo guy can't craft, and they're rarer than most other ammo types. I'll probably cave soon though, since I still haven't found the recipe for the "magazine rifle". This time I've tried to restrict myself to only crafting weapons that I have actually obtained the recipe for in-game, but even then the quad-shotgun is available pretty early, as is the tripe-pistol (this is almost as good, though it has less range). If unarmored I'm sure it'd be instant death. I haven't used the crossbows yet since they require throwing skill, but I have crafted most of them and they definitely look a lot better than the only crossbow we had before.įor me the quad-shotgun tended to be two hits for the most part - but they were armored, and even then it knocked them from 100 down to 20 something (which usually forces them to waste a few AP healing). They improved the "magazine rifle" as well - for some strange reason, the top-tier home-made sniper was actually more powerful and required less AP to use than the one below that, which made no sense. The home-made sniper rifle was already pretty damn powerful though - I used it for most of my first playthrough (just after launch), only replacing it near the end. It doesn't require much pistol skill - I invested a grand total of 0 points into pistol and still use it accurately. I've started using the 3-barrel pistol as a backup weapon isn't bad either (especially when combined with a longer-range weapon, like an assault rifle). Previously, I never used it because you'd hardly be able to get any shots off, making it pretty much worthless (except maybe as a crazy short-ranged backup thing). I mostly agree with this - I don't have the non-jamming or 20% bonus damage perks, but even without those that 4-barrel shotgun is now actually viable with an 8-AP character, since it's now possible to reload and fire in one turn. So the lastest batch of patches also made possible a crafted gun build/run There are no craftable automatic guns but i have a feeling that will change in the future:) They are also the cheapest guns to use since they practically cost no money, use cheap and abudent ammo and cover almost all the gun classes. There are some crazy good guns you can get very early in the game just by crafting the recipe and you can make some crazy tactics with your build.įor example you can use 2 heavy crossbows on your main and be a complete predator(the only thing missing the is the Predator sounds), sniper rifles on your companions or giving them 4 barrel shotgun and manually controlling them in battles:) With the perks for crafted guns not jaming and the +20% damage bonus you can finish the game with only those guns. Now i think with imaginations you can finish the game on Expert with them Before the updates with the gun balance and the added recipes the game was very unfriendly to crafting.
